The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Leader for the Medical Partnerships team, you will have the opportunity to work as part of the Global Medical and Clinical Affairs team. - Consulting with area and global commercial and medical leadership to set medium
- to long-term medical strategic direction and operating plans for engagement for all areas of responsibility for the Medical Partnerships team.
- Demonstrating expertise in Medical Affairs/Medical Sciences: industry trends, customer requirements, and business objectives to define processes and guidelines related to medical affairs. Decisions are independently executed and limited by the objectives/ guidelines of the business.
- Leading, developing and coaching a team with a focus on teamwork, collaboration, and consistency; determining team priorities, timelines and assignments to best support business needs. Ability to lead team successfully through change. Monitors workload to support strategic objectives and makes recommendations for changes in team alignment and composition as needed, including headcount. Accountable for the activities and results for their organization.
- Using advanced problem-solving skills with ability to develop solutions for multi-faceted, interrelated, and complicated problems requiring strong analytical skills and ability to assess core issue(s), analyze data and identify appropriate solutions
- Managing the annual budget for the Area based on business priorities and company strategy. Approves assigned programs and related budget. Responsible for deviations as well as overall resources to meet business objectives.
- Having oversight for Area educational grant and fellowship support either directly or through delegation to a member of the Medical Partnerships team.
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to both corporate and Global Medical Sciences (GMS) operations, principles, and values. Enthusiastically and actively championing the value of medical partnerships and GMS and how it contributes to the success of the organization
Your Skills and Expertise

- A Bachelor level university/college degree in a related field is required. Master or Doctoral level preparation preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant working experience in medical device or related field. Three (3+) years of Medical Affairs experience including responsibility for partnerships/interactions with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Health Care Professionals (HCPs), Professional Medical Societies and Organizations, Standards and Guidelines projects, Voice of Customer Activities and similar.
- Team leadership/people management experience
- Strong understanding of Health Care Compliance guidelines related to medical affairs, with a strong knowledge of guidelines around HCP interactions and navigating any at-risk scenarios to minimize risk to the company
- High degree of interpersonal skills and cross-cultural awareness. Is effective working and influencing in a matrix environment.
- Strong project management skills, a bias towards action, and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills in English.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Knowledge of corporate systems relevant to assigned area of responsibility is preferred (Financial systems such as Oracle and SAP, HCP and event management systems).
- Familiarity with wound care, surgical and /or infection prevention specialties
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the Area assigned
- Experience working in a matrix organization and with diversified cultures
