**Project Title: Understanding the Current Status and Impacting the Future of Singapore STEM Education Landscape: A Multi-Stage, Multi-Year Evaluation Study **[ERFP 10/23 TTW]

**Project Introduction**: The Natural Sciences and Science Education department of NIE is hiring one Research Associate (full-time) to support a MOE-contracted study that seeks to develop research instruments for the evaluation of STEM programmes in Singapore schools. The evaluation study takes on an empowerment stance by working closely with the stakeholders in the design, validation and administration of the research instruments. The period of the contract will be 18 months (with the possibility of extension) and the Research Associate is expected to participate in all activities related to STEM education and research led by the Principal Investigator.

**Requirements**:
Essential
- Master degree in sciences or social sciences
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Has publications in reputable education academic/scholarly journals
- Experience with data collection (qualitative and quantitative)
- Good analytical and critical thinking skills
- Good organizational skills, shows initiative to plan and anticipate work needed to be done
- Dynamic and shows positive work attitude
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Proficient in simple statistical analysis (e.g., WinSTEP, SPSS, excel, etc.)
- Experience liaising with policy makers and education leaders
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision within tight deadlines

Preferred
- Has previous working experience as Research Associate in education projects
- Has published in reputable academic/scholarly journals
- Positive work attitude (especially able to work in a team and value-add to the project)
- Able to write academic papers

**Responsibilities**:
Duties would include, but not limited to the following:

- Liaison with school and MOE partners
- Organisation of meetings
- Coordinating with other team members
- Publication and report writing
- All other project administration
