RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning is one of the critical foundational pillars of JnJ’s Supply Chain strategy that is essential to building the world’s best supply chain. Planning plays a pivotal role in the synchronization of our E2E Supply Chain to meet our customer demands efficiently and effectively as well as improving our cashflow through optimizing our working Capital. At the same time, we need to ensure that we are anticipating the future trends and disrupters in our industry and continuously build capabilities to ensure we remain agile and are able to adapt and use this as a competitive advantage.
The Global Plan team is responsible for setting the strategic direction of Consumer Health Planning around the globe, developing capabilities (People, Process, Technology, Metrics) and ensuring effective deployment of these within the segments to drive competitive advantage and improve efficiency, effectiveness, optimizing working capital whilst keeping our customers’ needs central to what we do.
The team needs to ensure that capabilities and processes are adequate and deployed in a consistent way in every region, and therefore works to develop these capabilities and processes centrally and closely with the regional teams and our partners in Procurement, Deliver, Finance - among others - to ensure that harmonization and simplification drive value to the regional organizations, through cash, cost and service dimensions.
The maturity of Planning and the longer term views for strategic development are key dimensions for this team, looking at the bigger picture but being able to influence the short and medium term actions towards a future vision of the E2E Planning.
The Senior Director Capabilities Planning will continue to transform our planning community, leading the development of the longer term capabilities as well as a multi-year Planning strategy for the Consumer Health company, influencing Planning as a whole to prepare the organization to achieve and sustain a leading edge Planning standard around the globe.
The role is accountable for but not limited to:
- Reshaping the capabilities team in conjunction with design and regional Planning leaders, ensuring we have the right level of talent within this team to influence, drive change and mature planning across the enterprise.
- Driving visibility and a common Plan maturity roadmap which is outcome based, ensures value creation and is clearly linked to overall maturity roadmap, including investment, deployment strategy, and development work.
- Setting clear priorities and focus to ensure the right impact at the right pace to drive up the maturity curve. This also means defining which deployments need to be Segment led or Center Led based on priority.
- Ensuring the balance between standardization versus harmonization with sector specific needs using a fact-based approach.
- Leading the development of standards for E2E Planning for all of Consumer Health including maturity models, frameworks, process maps, and metric standards. Creation of Frictionless Flow in creating linkages across all other Planning capabilities with process flows, process standards as well as technology enablement.
- Leading the development of functional planning maturity (Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Strategic Planning, Plant Planning) and ensuring collaborative connection across capabilities
- Work closely with the Transformation Design Lead to develop an understanding of how the business will utilize systems and tools to enable the E2E Planning integration & Transparent Supply Chain.
- Ensuring outside in thinking with ongoing external perspectives and benchmarking, both internal and external, to further shape Planning future state and leverage best practices, delivering a long-term Planning strategy.
- Driving an end-to-end approach to Planning capability with strong integration into Product Supply Teams within the Lean Framework and across the other pillars of Supply Chain (Make, Procurement, Deliver). Strong influencing of the Plan components into the JJOS framework from diagnostic to deployment execution.
