Institute for Digital Molecular Analytics and Science (IDMxS) is a new, unique interdisciplinary Research Centre of Excellence (RCE), funded by Ministry of Education (Singapore), Nanyang Technological University and National University of Singapore. Hosted by NTU in partnership with NUS, IDMxS is the world’s first organized effort focused on interfacing the biological and living world with the world of information technology and data science whilst providing fundamental scientific development, grounded in materials science, optics, and interfacial chemistry.

Key Responsibilities:

- Establish protein engineering collaborative platform for IDMxS for production, analyses and testing at IDMxS.
- Provide advice on protein engineering and produce protein for the research activities within the IDMxS.
- Function as a part of the Lab management team at IDMxS for setting up the protein production and cell culture facility.
- Work on the arrangement/layout of the production facility for cutting edge research and analysis for IDMxS.
- Procure devices, materials, and consumables for the functioning of the laboratories.
- Train research staffs on the production methods/protocols for the protein production and associated research objectives.
- General lab management duties that include: Develop standard operation procedures and ensure safe operation of lab instruments. Develop training program for instrumentation use. Ensure calibration, maintenance, and functionality of equipment. Liaise with NTU central organisations and collaborate with Facility Management. Be responsible for Facilities budget and contribute to budget planning

Job Requirements:

- PhD in bioengineering, biochemistry, molecular biology and cell culture.
- Experienced in protein expression, purification, and characterization.
- Ability to handle the AKTA system for protein purification.
- Experienced in bacterial and mammalian cell culture for protein production.
- Ability in setting protein production, cell culture facilities and management of resources, training, and maintenance of the laboratory.
