**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee the academic operations of the ULC English Language Centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational programs.
- Develop and implement academic policies, procedures, and curriculum in alignment with the center's goals and objectives.
- Lead and manage a team of language instructors, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of instructors, conducting regular observations and providing constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate academic and administrative activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Foster a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and success.
- Stay updated on developments in language teaching methodologies, technologies, and industry trends to enhance program effectiveness.
- Handle student inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Prepare reports and presentations on academic performance, program outcomes, and future initiatives for management review.
- Contribute to the marketing and promotion of the ULC's programs and services through participation in recruitment events and outreach activities.
**Requirements & Qualifications**:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in English language teaching, TESOL, TEFL, TESOL or CELTA required (in lieu of experience).
- At least 8 years of experience in English language teaching, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent organizational and managerial abilities.
- Sound knowledge of language teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and assessment practices.
- Experience with educational technology tools and platforms for language learning and instruction.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to address the diverse needs of students and staff.
- Understanding of international education standards and accreditation processes is an advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and promote diversity and inclusion.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in language education. Teaching as required to meet operational demands.
