**Role Description**:
This role requires a strong, compassionate leader to manage a team of software developers and guide them to the next level of success. The team of software developers is responsible to design solutions, write and test code, develope test cases, automate test cases, and frequent check-ins for continuous integration. As a Director for Software Development, overseeing day-to-day activities of the team and software development life cycle are important. Understanding of coding languages is mandatory.

**Responsibilities**:

- Direct strategic development, management and deployment of QA resources and software development.
- Mentor managers to implement best practices to motivate and organize their teams.
- Prepare schedules, report status as well as make hiring decisions.
- Establish hiring bar for all managers as well as individual contributors.
- Provide version control processes to assure consistency, quality and timeliness.
- Provide particular feedback to facilitate managers enhance their work.
- Guide and provide input to all strategic as well as technical planning for entire software projects.
- Monitor and provide input for evaluation and prioritize change requests.
- Direct strategic development, management and deployment of QA resources and software development.
- Actively oversee developer activities for feature development and bug fixing and ensure delivery of on-time, high-quality, secure code
- Ability to guide engineers to design systems in addition to guidance available from architecture team in terms of technical direction of solution to be implemented.
- Review high and low level design of new systems as well as enhancements / defect fixing that the team undertakes and provide input / proper guidance as needed.

**Competencies**:

- Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills along with a team player focus.
- Attention to details.
- Has extensive knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript, SQL, Python)
- Strong foundation in requirements scoping, data structures, algorithms, instrumenting and performance benchmarking, problem solving, and complexity analysis is nice to have.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude.
- Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment.
- Organized and self-motivated.

**Qualifications**:

- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and building computer software is preferred.
- Has experience in team management.
