
Executive, Family and Volunteer

The Executive, Family & Volunteer is responsible for recruiting, engaging and managing volunteers to support the work of Chen Su Lan Methodist Children’s Home (CSLMCH). The incumbent will work very closely with the residents and their families, and external stakeholders to enable families to move towards healing, transformation, self-reliance, improved family and psycho-social functioning with a view to reunification.
**Responsibilities**
- Able to understand the needs of clients served and ensure recruitment of suitable volunteers for the role of being a Befriender (Resident Befrienders and Family Care Befrienders).
- To engage, organize, and / or coordinate needful programmes for families
- Management of volunteers for the befriending programme to ensure volunteers are adequately skilled, engaged and supported to undertake their befriending role most effectively. Develops and conducts training for volunteers.
- Able to facilitate and work with families of residents on re-building relationships towards restoration and reunification.
- Develop a framework and effective systems and processes of ensuring good matching of volunteers to clients, and ensuring volunteers are monitored and well supported in their roles.
- Develop risk mitigation measures for programmes.
- Evaluate volunteer management policies and processes.
- To work with relevant CSLMCH departments to ensure effective integration of work processes and overall coordination for the Befriending Programme, to facilitate the flow of information, as well as the sharing and addressing of needs identified between units and befrienders and vice versa.
- To coordinate, nurture, sustain and motivate volunteer befrienders.
- To document and monitor programme outcomes.
**Requirements**:
- A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology, with years of related experience in family work.
- A heart and aptitude to help the less fortunate with at least 5 years of experience in Volunteer or Community engagement capacity. Passionate about volunteerism and enjoy serving in community.
- Friendly, positive vibes with strong interpersonal skills - resourceful and enjoys networking, engaging and working with stakeholders.
- Good communications, organizational, project management skills - oral, written and inter-personal communications.
- Confident, self-motivated, independent worker and also a good team player.
- The ability to engage/ influence others to take ownership in an interest area while facilitating conversations amongst diverse groups for continual co-creation, relationship building and collaboration.
- Flexible and able to take on other tasks as assigned by senior management and Head of Department.
