[What the role is]
You will be working on the metadata curation for enhanced search and retrieval of archived audiovisual records as an Audio Visual Archives (AVA) Intern under National Archives of Singapore (NAS).
[What you will be working on]
- To research and strategise multiple pathways for metadata curation, transformation, and enhancement, with the end goal of improving search and retrieval on Archives Online. This includes cross-departmental collaboration with other NAS departments, and divisions like Resource Discovery and Management.
- To formulate, automate, improve and execute pipelines and workflows for metadata collection, transformation, and ingestion into NAS AVA's systems.
- To assist with key AV archival functions, including but not limited to accession, arrangement, description, access, and use.
[What we are looking for]
- Students from Digital Humanities, Humanities, Social Sciences, Data Science/Analytics, Information Sciences related courses preferred.
- Familiarity with, and appreciation for, traditional and/or audiovisual archives, with special attention to the process/requirements of archival search and discovery.
- Experience with data analysis, data engineering, automation, ML/AI and/or programming.
- Familiarity with metadata standards, and Linked Data.
- Independent, proactive, and self-disciplined worker.
