Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as **Head of Risk Strategy - Global Risk**

**Role purpose**

Global Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a sub function of Group Risk and Compliance. The ERM function will support the integration of our Group Framework and Appetite Management, and have broad oversight of the Risk Taxonomy. While the core risks of the bank remain consistent compared to a few years ago, the way in which they manifest, the speed to crystallisation and the connection points between them have become increasingly complex. It is therefore essential that we are equipped with the knowledge to navigate the dynamic and interconnected risk landscape of today. The objective of enterprise risk management is to develop a holistic, portfolio view of the most significant risks to the achievement of the Group’s most important objectives. The Head of Risk Strategy will support the Head of ERM to meet these objectives.

The Head of Risk Strategy, Singapore is primarily responsible for:
**RMF Enhancement Programme**
- Ensure appropriate governance and execution plans in place to deliver on the RMF enhancement objectives
- Lead the risk participation in the change programmes to enhance our RMF outcomes
- Market level sponsorship of the RMF & Assurance workstream of the Integrity Regulatory Reporting programme

**Capital, Scenarios and Stress Testing**
- Sets (in conjunction with GB/GF and risk stewards), oversees, and approves market level Operational Risk scenario analysis, economic capital models and stress testing models for the organisation. Drives optimisation for all including identifying opportunities to opimise the banks’ capital usage
- Ensure standards and methodologies are appropriately set and adhered to across the organisation and oversees execution where appropriate

**Risk Steward Oversight**
- Responsible for the independent oversight of 2LOD NFR Risk Stewards across the organisation, ensuring monitoring and assessment of the consistency and quality of risk steward execution against the 11 designated key responsibilities in the Risk management Framework

**Risk Governance**
- Ensure appropriate Governance structures in place to identify, assess, manage, and report keys risks across Singapore
- Facilitate escalation, both to the Governance Meetings and on a real time basis, of matters for awareness from sites and from lines of businesses and ensures appropriate cascade of issues through the region

**Risk Frameworks including Risk Appetite**
- Contribute to the development of the Group Risk Management Framework supplemented by regional addendum (as required). Ensure that risk management frameworks are embedded within the markets and provide guidance to the Global Businesses to achieve the same
- Ensures that Risk frameworks and Risk appetite are effectively communicated to and implemented by the appropriate stakeholders at Country level
- Ensure robust oversight of risk strategy components of key regulatory initiatives in the market, with interaction with regulators

**Risk Reporting**
- Responsible for Enterprise Risk Reporting, including the preparation of the Risk Profile Paper, underlying ERRs, Key Risk Management Information and maintenance of associated systems
- Prepares materials for regular and ad-hoc meetings with, and requests from, regulators, rating agencies, investors and other parties

**Strong Internal Controls Discipline**
- Adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls
- Adhere to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where applicable, by the timely closure of internal and external audit points and issues raised by external regulators
- Drive through solutions and to ensure that risks are properly identified and mitigated
- Manage the balance between effective execution, whilst driving a transformation agenda
- Ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organisation and conventions
