Leveraging tools like the Operation & Technology Roadmap process, Industry Training Officers work with unions to support companies in developing a ready, relevant, and resilient workforce alongside business strategies that will address current and future needs. Together with the unions and the extended Labour Movement family, the NTUC Industry Training and Transformation team assists companies to translate these strategies into actionable outcomes such as technology adoption, job redesign, and skills upgrading to drive workforce and business transformation and growth.
- Mobilise companies to form Company Training Committees (CTCs) and implement key jobs and skills initiatives for the Industry Transformation Map cluster
- Assess skills development gaps in the company, identify company training plan and programmes with the CTC
- Work with partners or training vendors to curate a suite of training programmes relevant to upskill workers within the industry
- Work with unions to mobilise workers and companies on jobs and skills development
- Establish mechanism to coordinate outreach and gather ground feedback.
- Coordinate the implementation plan of skills and jobs together with government agencies
- Monitor and analyse the adoption rate, transformation and training status and make recommendations to encourage adoption rate
- Coordinate efforts of Training Committees in identifying ITM clusters strategies and key jobs and skills initiatives for the ITM clusters

- Able to make sense out of information and data received from multiple sources
- Able to work with companies to identify operational gaps and requirement on jobs and skills development and recommend solutions on closing jobs and skills gaps together with the companies.
- Able to work with unions to mobilise companies and workers for jobs and skills development
