
Regional Vice President

**SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Management and support of an independent manufacturer’s representative sales force that promotes, sells and secures new business and supports existing business within a customer base including Electric Utility Companies, Electric Distributors, Contractors, Commercial and Industrial accounts. This role is 100% remote, and it is preferred that the individual lives in the region.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
Territory Management
- Meet quarterly and annual sales targets in sales territory
- Assist in the development of a 5-year strategic plan to develop territory including
- Research market conditions, competitors, business potential
- Evaluate all current business partners and independent representatives
- Working with the Field Application Engineers, Business Development Managers and Regional Sales Managers
- Assist existing and new representatives/partners with sales functions necessary to secure business.
- Familiarize established customers with new products, services and developments.
- Demonstrate products, make presentations and assist prospects in the selection of products best suited to their needs.
- Determine, organize, and perform training needs for customers
- Participate in industry-wide trade shows and identify regional trade shows to promote our products; assist our reps with lead follow up.
- Identify region opportunities for growth interacting with other RVP’s, Sales, Marketing and Operations
- Lead negotiations with alliance partners and potential alliance partners.
- Meet with corporate executives, managers, engineers, and purchasing personnel at customers to advance the company’s presence.
- Take appropriate and timely actions with customers as required for the collection of outstanding invoices.
- Investigate and notify the company of competitive products, promotions, selling techniques, warranties and marketing policies.
- Engage customers in negotiations putting the company in a position to win an order by gauging the competitive environment while driving towards company suggested profit margins.
- Secure and report bid results including competitive prices, product descriptions, lead times, special terms, and status of win/loss.
- Lead strategy for major projects/blankets in the territory within the company
Territory Development
- Recruit, train, support and monitor performance of direct salesperson (if applicable) and independent sales representatives in appropriate territories.
- Develop new territories, partners, and markets to meet growth targets and execute a strategic plan.
Ancillary Duties
- Follow company policy related to company expenses during the employ of the company business.
- Submit reports detailing business activities, sales volume and expenses in a timely manner.
- Provide forecast and budget information as appropriate.
- Engage with customers experiencing field equipment issues and coordinate with Aftermarket Support as appropriate.
**QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or the equivalent combination of work experience and skill development. MBA preferred
- Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical equipment sales/sales management in the power industry
- Ability to travel 60%-75% of the time
- Demonstrated value-added / total life cycle sales ability
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work unsupervised from a virtual office
