**Responsibilities**:
Specimen Processing:
- Preparing and processing collected samples for analysis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality control
standards
Laboratory Testing:
- Conducting a wide range of diagnostic tests, including PCR, next generation sequencing and other tests as required
Instrument Operation and Maintenance:
- Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, such as sequencers, thermal cyclers and
automated analyzers
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Entering test results into computer systems accurately
- Maintaining detailed and organized records of tests, procedures, and patient information
Quality Control:
- Performing quality control checks on equipment and testing procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of
results
Calibration:
- Calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure precision and reliability in test results
Troubleshooting:
- Identifying and resolving issues related to test results, equipment malfunctions, or other laboratory processes
Interpretation and Reporting:
- Analyzing and interpreting test results, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals in a timely manner
Adherence to Safety Protocols:
- Following established safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Compliance with Regulations:
- Adhering to regulatory standards, including those set by MOH and other relevant accreditation or regulatory bodies e.g. CAP (College of American Pathologist)
**Requirements**:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or Molecular Biology, Medical Technology or other related science
- Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
- Only Singaporean may apply
**Skills**:
- Basic molecular techniques
- Computer literacy
- Good lab practices
- Ability to work independently
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Responsible, reliable, punctual, passionate and meticulous
