A Medical Technologist in Cardiac – Sleep Medicine is responsible for the delivery of qualitypatient service in the work area in a personalised, specialised and cost-effective way inaccordance to established hospital policies, procedures and standard of practices. A Medical Technologist in Cardiac – Sleep Medicine also provides support for all clinicalcases that require sleep studies and treatment monitoring studies referred from the cardiacclinic and wards. Job Responsibilities To co-operate with doctors andother health-care providers insmooth delivery of services topatients. To demonstrate basic skills andknowledge in the delivery ofservices to patients at NUHCS. To schedule and arrange forpatient’s appointment/admissionSleep Monitoring Studies andtreatment follow-up. To edit the data generated fromthe studies into computer and doreporting of results for doctor toverify. To actualize/document patient’svisit on EPIC before and afterSleep Monitoring Studies andtreatment update accordingly. To perform Sleep MonitoringStudies as requested by NUHCSaccording to hospital standards of operation and AmericanAcademy of sleep Medicine(AASM) Guidelines. To provide appropriateinstructions and services topatient for follow-up review atSpecialist Clinic (Cardiac - Sleepmedicine). To provide patient / familymembers on informationregarding Sleep Health,Monitoring Studies and treatmentoptions. To educate and demonstrate topatient / family members on theuse of Continuous PositiveAirway Pressure (CPAP). To assist patients in the loan ofCPAP and follow-up with thearrangement of the purchase ofthe device. To provide troubleshoot supportfor patient undergoing monitoringstudies and treatment. To demonstrate proper andeconomical usage ofconsumables and supplies. To attend to telephone enquiries /calls and trace results whenrequested. To assist in patients’ registrationand make appointments. To lead or participate in servicequality activities / program. To attend in-service lectures andcourse. To be responsible for keepingstatistical reports of the lab. Job Requirements Minimum Degree in Medical Technology or Biomedical Science. Preferably with relevant experience from sleep medicine field. Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT) or with RegisteredPolysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification is an addedadvantage. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate. Competence in Computer literacy. Possess good interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills. Good analytical and organization skills.
