Universal Parks & Resorts Global Merchandise develops, and licenses branded consumer goods and promotional products which are sold at retail theme parks and/or otherwise distributed worldwide. Product lines currently include toys, home product, children’s products, food/drinkware, apparel, souvenirs, jewelry, stationery, collectibles, and candy/consumables.

The Senior Product Developer will lead a team of product developers to work with buyers, designers, and international business partners to strategize and execute product development across UPR-owned or -affiliated destination entertainment venues (both US and international). This includes leading in the coordination of product development related tasks and ensuring compliance to the quality standards or delivery requirements set in accordance with Company regulations and best practices. This role will also work closely with vendors and suppliers to recommend any changes to the current product development to ensure compliance with the affiliated destination product safety standards.

Your responsibilities include:

- Working closely with a team of product developers and partner with Brand Manager, Supervisor and Compliances team during product development stage. This involves tracking changes to licensor’s requirements, identifying manufacturing issues and ensuring the accuracy of materials or components used.
- To facilitate onboarding of new vendors and to carry out merchandising responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Work with buyers, designers and suppliers from the ideation phase to production stage in line with project deadlines.
- Handles product development including working with external vendors and factories on sample reviews.
- Understands and applies manufacturing and costing parameters to product.
- Ensures product design excellence by making character and product corrections during sampling, prototyping and address key issues and challenges in production/assembly and plans accordingly to deliver high-quality products.
- To participate in UPRGM produce development meeting or calls conducted in other time zones.
- Ensure good housekeeping is in place in the respective area of responsibilities.
- Establish product specifications to satisfy product requirement.
- Coordinates with Manager on new projects and scheduled deadlines.
- Limited travel for onsite product approval and trade shows.
- Undertake other ad-hoc projects and responsibilities as required.

**Qualifications** Basic Requirements**:

- Demonstrates strong engineering and design knowledge as well as understanding of prototype design processes.
- Understanding of how product components and materials work together both functionally and aesthetically.
- Familiar with product manufacturing knowledge and regulations across countries in Asia.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products - especially Microsoft office, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong prioritization and creative analytical problem-solving skills.
- Savvy communication skills with the ability to connect with non-English native speakers from other countries.
- Able to travel internationally as required.
