**Scope**:
The Children’s Ministry Director (CMD) is a key member of the Solomon’s Porch Singapore (SPSG) leadership team. They are responsible for leading a team of volunteers in developing an engaging program within a safe environment that shares the gospel message to our children (18 months to 12 years).

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Provide prayerful, visionary leadership for the overall function of children’s ministry which includes:

- Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers (welcoming, worship, teachers) for Children’s Ministry (CM) worship services, classes and events. Works cooperatively with all staff and volunteers.
- Provide a warm, friendly and learning environment for children and families.
- Uses appropriate child development knowledge to best meet the needs of SPKids in curriculum selection, event themes, child discipline, classroom grouping, teacher training etc.
- Communicates the needs of the children’s program to other staff and church leaders as appropriate. Organizes, sets-up and stocks classrooms with necessary supplies.
- Coordinates sanitation and safety protocols for CM.
- Visits classes for the purpose of evaluation and teacher support in order to address any issues or emergencies that arise. Teaches classes as needed.
- Coordinates and provides leadership in developing and implementing a young family outreach ministry focused on children activities.
- Assists Senior and Associate Pastors in visiting young church families involved in CM as requested; to consult with parents regarding an issue with their child; and to refer to certified counselors as appropriate.
- Attends weekly Staff meetings, early morning prayer service and creates and runs CM Team meetings (monthly).
- Participates in the CM Team annual budget estimating process.
- Participates in the life and worship of the SPSG community - listen to Sunday sermons, complete discipleship courses and be an active member in house church (small groups).
- Performs other duties as assigned by the pastoral team that contribute to the administration and life of the Church.

- Supervision - Senior Pastor and Associate Pastor
- Program Support - CM Core Team (team of lay leaders)
- Annual Performance Review - Senior Pastor

Personal Qualifications:

- Has a personal, active and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
- Energetic, warm and able to share the love of Jesus to children and their families.
- Experience serving in Children’s Ministry.
- Is comfortable with visiting church families involved in the CM.
- Able to balance work and personal life (health, family etc).
- Physically capable of sustained activity.

Professional Qualifications:

- Knowledge and experience in Biblical interpretation. Child development (and faith development) and religious educational theory and practice are highly regarded.
- Theology Degree highly regarded (MDiv, MAT) - completed or pursuing.
- Seeks opportunities to grow spiritually and professionally.
- Maintains confidentiality as appropriate and accountable with church resources.

**Other Specifications**:
Position Type: Full Time or Part Time

Schedule: As is typical for ministry, this position requires a flexible schedule. It Includes agreed upon onsite office hours, Sunday services, occasional Saturday services/events, evening activities and meetings, and camps requiring travel
