***Job Purpose**:
**This position reports to and partners closely with the Regional Chief Financial Officer. This position will be responsible for assisting in the development of the Asia Pacific & Japan financial strategies, financial planning, & regional M&A. Additionally, this role will partner closely with the CFO and other regional senior leaders to drive key initiatives including Portfolio Optimization, business optimization, synergies, and other value creating initiatives. This position will be responsible for driving recommendations that result in action and change.**
**Responsibilities**:
- **Strategy development - Work in partnership with the regional CFO, regional leadership team, and external business partners to develop financial strategies along with a detailed list of initiatives to ensure we remain competitive and create long term shareholder value. This role will lead the analysis for projections with respect to various operating strategies, shareholder value measures, and other key performance metrics. (20%)**
- **Financial oversight - Provides strategic and financial direction on business processes & practices that produce profitable business unit growth, mitigates risk, and maximizes return on capital employed. Support working capital allocation and develop models and methods to analyze volume and margin trends. (25%)**
- **Portfolio Optimization - Develop, interpret and implement financial modeling concepts or techniques related to strategic planning to drive business results. Develop financial targets, anticipate industry future direction, and correlate with future business strategies. (25%).**
- **Corporate development & M&A - Work in partnership with the regional President, Regional CFO, and other business leaders to identify, evaluate, and acquire strategic acquisition targets. Responsibilities include overseeing the business case development, determining valuation ranges, assisting in due diligence, negotiations, board deliverables/approvals, and other pre/post transaction requirements (15%)**
- **Lead and manage - provide leadership, training, and direction to a professional internal staff along with managing external vendors, banking and investment relations. Engages in negotiations with suppliers and customers to provide financial insights. (15%)**
**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:
- **University degree (Accounting/Finance) with fifteen plus years hands-on experience as a Senior Financial Manager. MBA and/or CPA preferred**
- **Solid financial accounting, statement preparation and practical analytical skills. Prior experience in cash management forecasting and budgeting.**
- **Strong written and verbal skills. Interpersonal skills must include solid presentation skills along with a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with diverse constituents, internal staff, senior leadership, board members, investors, outside public accounting, legal, bank and other professionals.**
- **The ability to establish and maintain effective internal relationships, communicate and negotiate effectively, as well as analyze, interpret and summarize statistical data is needed.**
- **The ability to exercise sound, independent judgment in resolving problems without established guidelines is strongly preferred.**
- **Possesses strong leadership skills with a willingness to lead, create new ideas, and be assertive.**
- **Possesses strong organizational and time management skills, driving tasks to completion.**
- **Team player with strong interaction skills and the ability to identify, anticipate, respond to and meet business requirements at all levels. Very hands on, action-oriented self-starter with a high energy level and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.**
- **8 years of progressive, responsible experience in a financial management environment**
- **3 years of management experience**
- **Finance experience with marketing, supplier relationships, asset management, and/or Sales is preferred**
- **Knowledge or experience with the distribution industry or other relevant industry experience
