Department overview:
The Aromatics & Fibers team within the Base Chemical Insights (BCI) division provides information, insights & analytics that are critical for the industry players to take strategic commercial decisions in day to day business. We also provide long term analysis and forecasts onwhich several strategic investments are made or divested. Product price, industry operation, project progress are amongst the important regular updates that we track. The Base Chemicals team has a sound and successful history of over 35 years providing short and long term price and market trend forecasts.

Position summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven individual with good analytical and customer relationship skills and fiber industry experience who is able to develop and provide specialised insight and analysis to our clients about the Asian nylon fibers and feedstocks markets. Information will be gained through regular discussions and calls with market contacts and clients, virtually and face to face. The role requires market information gathering, analysis and interpretation of data to develop supply demand, price and margin forecasts for various nylon fiber grades and their feedstocks in the Asia region, particularly mainland China.

Duties & accountabilities
- Regular writing of Weekly, Monthly and Annual reports describing the nylon fibers and feedstocks markets in Asia including spot and contract prices, margin analysis, supply demand and price and margin forecasts
- Maintenance of short term and long term supply/demand models:

- updates to the capacity database
- update of quarterly supply/demand balances
- Regular review of long term supply/demand balances used in published World Analyses services (10 year outlook).
- Maintenance of economic models which determine production cash costs and margins for these products
- Construction of robust and defendable short term and long term price and margin forecasts
- Support existing clients with a focus on increasing IHS Markit Chemical’s exposure inside client organizations
- Continuous proactive marketing of related Market Advisory Services to meet annual growth goals:

- commercial focus to drive adoption of IHS Markit's Global Nylon Feedstock & Fibers Service as well as Nylon Fibers and Nylon Feedstocks World Analysis to meet specific sales goals.
- sales discussions to be facilitated with client visit programs where possible
- develop strong connections to relevant industry associations and build network of industry contacts.
- give market presentations at client meetings as well as IHS Markit Chemical and industry conferences.
- Provide written market analysis and reasoned forecasts to required Market Advisory Services.
- Provide support to the Consulting Business for single client project work as required.
