**_What We Are Looking For _**:
Ahrefs is looking for a well-rounded, in-house Legal Counsel to further advance our business. You will ensure that Ahrefs operates within the law at all times, offer your counsel on legal issues, and serve as an effective guardian of the organization. In this role, you will need to build and develop legal strategies and objectives for the organization, and be responsible for Ahrefs’ legal compliance and risk exposure management.

To be successful in this role, you need to have sound knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations, and the ability to make prudent legal decisions independently.

**_What You’ll Do _**:

- Overall management of organization's legal matters
- Provide sound legal advice to management. Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and legal impacts of any business decision or course of action
- Review, draft and advise on a wide variety of complex agreements and legal documents to minimize risks and maximize the legal rights of Ahrefs
- Set internal legal governance policies and processes
- Draft and update standard template documents and agreements
- Effectively deal with both internal and external stakeholders (project, procurement, enterprise and marketing teams, regulators, vendors and customers) on all legal-related matters
- Proactively identify solutions that will eliminate or mitigate legal risks and exposure of Ahrefs
- Conduct training for internal stakeholders on relevant areas of law
- Act as the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- Manage and address Ahrefs’ personal data protection matters and queries (PDPA, GDPR etc)
- Manage Ahrefs’ intellectual property and trademark portfolio
- Keep abreast of global legislative changes on areas of law applicable and relevant to Ahrefs

**_Basic Requirements _**:

- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (with MA or JD degree a plus)
- Proven general counselling experience, preferably to a global tech startup or SaaS organization
- Possesses broad legal knowledge and experience (particularly in the areas of international business law, data privacy law, labor law, global tax law, etc.)
- Self-starter with willingness to be an individual contributor
- Possesses the ability to anticipate legal issues or risks and to “see around the corner”
- Possesses a high degree of professional ethics, integrity and understanding of business sensitivities and confidentiality
- Excellent judgment and analytical skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
