Halogen Foundation aims to inspire and influence a generation of young people to lead themselves and others well, and we take that mission seriously with our staff as well. Being a youth development organisation, we work with the youthful vibrancy of our stakeholders and students, ensuring that while we do the social good of building young leaders and entrepreneurs, we also do the personal good of building a staff team that is enabled to do their best work.
As a Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for our efforts in fundraising and donation events, playing an integral role in ensuring that we have the financial capacity to deliver transformative programmes to our youths and youth influencers. You will be in charge of building an outreach strategy and processes for donations and gifts, handling the full spectrum of our qualification, cultivation, outreach, and stewardship of contributions and their respective contributors. You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop and iterate a research and outreach strategy to increase our brand and cause awareness to potential donor
- Cultivate and manage the portfolio of donors we have through consistent and value-added engagement, executing a strategy for subsequent, repeated, and/or recurrent donations
- Work with partners to receive corporate volunteering hours, CSR grants, and other forms of corporate giving
- Oversee the operations of fundraising events and managing the stakeholders involved in each event
- Engage in community building to increase public awareness and interaction with the organisation
**A typical week at work involves**
- Researching and outreaching prospective donors and supporters who are interested in contributing to the cause of youth development
- Actively engaging our current portfolio of donors and supporters, working closely with the CEO and the Board of Directors
- Seeking innovative ways of corporate giving and stewarding these gifts to benefit the youths we work with
- Presenting the cause of Halogen Foundation to prospective donors and supporters at pitch events, networking sessions, and informal meetings
- Managing the project timelines and execution of fundraising events such as our Charity Gala Dinner and other virtual alternatives
- Engage in community building to increase public awareness and interaction with the organisation
- Participating in cross-department meetings and management meetings to contribute your perspective and fundraising expertise
**What You’ll Achieve**
By the end of your first month,
- You would have a good understanding of the ins-and-outs of the charity organisation, social service sector, and the organisation’s approach to fundraising and needs
- You would have a fundamental and workable understanding of compliance, legal, and financial policies regarding donations
- You would have co-developed a baseline strategy for outreach, engagement, and cultivation of portfolio with the CEO
By the end of your sixth month,
- You would be the first port-of-call for all things related to fundraising or donor portfolio, and display a marked expertise in managing different stakeholders with finesse
- You would have fine-tuned the fundraising strategy into a winning formula unique to Halogen Foundation, with a clear USP and right-to-win positioning
- You would have developed insights into our donor profiles and utilised data to help you make the right calls to build a tailored and strong relationship with our supporters
By the end of your first year,
- You would be the expert in fundraising matters and taken full ownership of researching, outreaching, and cultivating your own portfolio of proven and/or innovative fundraising initiatives
- You would have developed a long-term game plan for fundraising and sustainable giving, ensuring a healthy future pathway for financial sustenance
- You would be an effective catalyst for new partnerships and a strong advocate for existing partnerships, developing more systemic fundraising initiatives with donors, supporters, and partners that can create more avenues of impact for youth
