**Position Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Psychology Intern to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work with our child psychologist to assist in implementing interventions, and support strategies that enhance the well-being and development of our students. This internship provides a valuable opportunity for students or recent graduates in psychology, counselling, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and impactful environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
1) Support the implementation of individualised intervention plans designed by psychologists
2) Assist in delivering evidence-based therapeutic strategies in both 1-to-1 and small group settings.
3) Observe and document student behaviours, emotional responses, and learning progress during sessions.
4) Contribute insights during team discussions to support case reviews and intervention planning.
5) Create and prepare visual aids, social stories, and other resources to support emotional, behavioural, and social development.
6) Conduct basic research on child development, special education approaches, and best practices in intervention.
7) Help reinforce positive behaviour strategies and routines alongside therapists and teachers.
8) Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in accordance with ethical guidelines.
**Personal Development**
1) Gain hands-on experience in implementing psychological strategies and interventions in a real-world special needs setting.
2) Enhance your understanding of child development and the impact of diverse needs on learning and behaviour.
3) Build your confidence in working directly with children through guided hands-on support in both individual and group sessions.
4) Develop effective communication and interpersonal skills through collaboration with families, therapists, and educators.
5) Enhance your observation and documentation abilities to support intervention planning and progress tracking.
**Preferred Qualifications**
1) Currently pursuing or recently completed a **diploma or degree** in psychology, counselling, early childhood, or a related field.
2) A genuine interest in working with children with special needs and supporting their overall development.
3) Strong observational skills and attention to detail in documenting behaviour and progress.
4) Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
5) A compassionate and proactive attitude, with a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.

Pay: $300.00 - $800.00 per month
