**JOB SUMMARY**

The TB Control Unit manages the majority of TB patients in Singapore. Administration of TB medications via Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) by a trained healthcare worker remains the gold standard of TB care both in Singapore and globally. Adherence to TB medication regimen is required for the eradication of TB disease.

For a select group of patients, synchronous Video Observation Therapy (VOT) may be offered. During VOT, patients would remotely ingest their TB medication while being observed and advised by the VOT executive in real-time through the use of the use of a smartphone, computer or tablet by both parties.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

SPECIFIC
- Synchronous VOT programme
- Observe real-time the administration of TB medications through the use of a smartphone, computer or tablet while maintaining patient privacy.
- Verify patient’s identity, location and their accurate identification and layout of TB medications.
- Interview and educate patient on side-effects and address their concerns
- Observe patient adherence to identification and ingestion of medication in sequence.
- Confirm with patient next appointment and perform booking in the system.
- Maintain timely and accurate records of patients’ information.
- Report promptly to Supervising Nurse on all medication events, missed doses, interrupted observation.
- During medical emergency, call ambulance while maintaining online monitoring of patient.
- Collaborates and co-operates with other health-care personnel in the smooth delivery of synchronous VOT.

GENERAL
- Other responsibilities and administrative duties pertaining to TBCU operations as assigned by supervisor.
- Respect and protect patients’ rights and confidentiality.
