- Completed CPA/CA or other professional accounting accreditation.
- 9 years of relevant work experience in a financial reporting/operational accounting role.
- Experience in accounting principles, including US GAAP, IFRS, and related international accounting standards.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and with SQL.
- Experience in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and leading and driving complex operational initiatives.

**About the job**:
Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. Every day is a new challenge, and you're continually looking for ways to help our team become more efficient and effective. A team player at heart, you collaborate with our global team, advocate best practices and pitch in where needed. You move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support business objectives.
In this role, you will be on the Asia Pacific (APAC) Controllership team, and will partner closely with a number of cross-functional and cross-finance stakeholders. You will successfully drive cross-finance collaboration to support both finance as well as business-led initiatives, and also implement and continually look to improve existing processes.
As a member of this team, you'll know your accounting principles and the accounting processes. Every day is a new challenge and you will continually look for ways to help our team get better at what we do, in the most efficient way possible. You will work quickly, while keeping your attention to detail and tapping into your problem-solving skills to support Google's business objectives.
The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
**Responsibilities**:
- Own and account for accuracy, timeliness, effectiveness, and efficiency of financial reporting and processes related to Controllership for your area (e.g., month-end close, year end statutory financial processes, P&L and B/S analytics, tax compliance, financial accounting).
- Prepare and present financial information to different audiences, including finance leaders, business partners, auditors, and regional accountants.
- Participate in cross-finance readiness for product initiatives in APAC, providing jurisdictional expertise, and partner with key stakeholders for successful implementation/launch.
- Develop solutions for current and potential problems, address potential issues and risks for a specific area, and focus on comprehensive and proactive planning to craft solutions.
- Identify opportunities to design new or improve current methods/processes (e.g., customized process documents or deliverables, policy updates, revised guidance) to increase efficiency and/or produce higher value for users.
