**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Working upstream on new NPI project review and working on engineering specifications for re-sourcing, localization, and alternative cost reduction initiatives closely with Commodity Managers, Supply Chain Program Managers, Quote, and SMT teams.
- Conduct VA/VE & direct drop-in alternative components programs and workshops to identify potential cost reductions or supply chain mitigation programs.
- Manage and report on active VA/VE programs together with SMT on customer qualification milestones, while coordinating with Engineering, supply chain, commodities, and production departments.
- Lead, Develop & Manage a group of engineers working on Component Engineering and VA/VE activities
- Solve Component Engineering technical issues and mentor the team in technical problem solving
- Manage and monitor KPI’s/Metrics related to the delivery of projects (Cycle time, productivity & quality)
- Drive Continues improvement projects to enhance the process, quality, productivity & cycle time improvement
- Should be accountable for team and process development in component engineering, value analysis, and value engineering
- Finding and analyzing the Critical parameters from Datasheets of Electro-Mechanical/Electrical/Mechanical components & finding alternate parts and providing Form-Fit-Function analysis
- Verification/Validation/Classification of Components and OEM’s Part Numbers in BOMs from Manufacturers Datasheet
- Involve in all aspects of component engineering such as design support which involves Component Selection including technical analysis, reliability of component, availability, and Component cost.
- Present technical comparison and analysis of alternative parts justifications to our customers
- Plan, schedule, and coordinates the Component Qualification projects with technical design and test aspects of projects with suppliers and customers.
- Build component database cross-references on alternate raw material expertise mainly in steels, plastics would be preferred, also fluid control component, pneumatics, etc.,

**Educational/Certification Requirement**:

- Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related)
- Master’s in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related) would be an asset
- PMP or equivalent certification would be an asset

**Experience Requirement**:

- Bachelors: Minimum 10 years of experience or Masters: Minimum 6 years of experience in leading Component Engineering/CAD and people management functions in semiconductor or other Capital equipment industry
- 4+ years of people management role
- Experience with documentation standards.
- Experience with PLM, Library management, and Various Industry standards for Electrical, Electromechanical, and Electronics components.
- Excellent organizational, data collection, and presentation skills
- Good mix of preferred technical skills along with people management
- Should be an excellent Problem Solver and analyzer, Conflict Manager, and Decision maker and must have hands-on experience in vast data analytic and handling skills
- Hands-on experience working on quality tools like 5Why, Fishbone and Pareto analysis, etc.,
- Ability to work with little or no supervision, Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and passionate for continuous improvements.
- Results & execution driven consistently delivers on commitments & stretch goals.
