Job Description

Scope of Position: Source, selects and recommends components to meet design specifications and requirements, product cost targets and availability to purchase. Work closely with Development Engineering, Sourcing and Purchasing, Quality and Manufacturing departments to resolve issues using engineering problem solving skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform BOM scrub analysis and deduction of BOM risk.
- Source and study component specifications and recommend suitable components to meet enterprise-wise technology and initiatives to improve product quality and reliability, and to reduce product costs to maintain operational efficiencies.
- Provide technical guidance for the selection of components.
- Facilitate communication of latest technology roadmaps from component suppliers, and for technical investigations of NUD components.

Leadership
- Proactively promote design resiliency and design for excellence.
- Drive continuous improvements in product quality and reliability.
- Lead discussions with component suppliers and stakeholders.
- Strong ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.

Interpersonal
- Communicate technical information with clarity.
- Facilitate effective technical discussions between internal and external stakeholders.
- Influence internal stakeholders to adopt enterprise-wide initiatives for product resiliency and design for excellence.

EDUCATION AND RELEVENT REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor Degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in Component Engineering or Hardware Design Engineering.
- Knowledgeable in the critical ratings of a broad spectrum of electronics, electrical and electromechanical components.
- Practical experience with Silicon Expert tool.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Macros
- Position is a one year contract eligible for renewal or conversion
