As the global product line champion, this role will act as the centre of product knowledge, defining the product and asset strategy to deliver sustainable growth; organic, capex expansions, innovation commercialization, proactive IRM and M&A/OI. Define and execute strategy over a 18m-5y+ time frame.

This role act as a key linkage role between Operations, the Operating Units and the external market, ensuring alignment between Product Line / Product strategies and their ability to support growth of our Categories.
- This role will manage the overall product portfolio, develop competitive value proposition, pricing strategy and work closely with the Operating Units for effective local execution.
- As an asset facing role, Global PM will lead strategic planning / capacity planning and work closely with Supply Chain teams to manage product allocation to maximise capacity.

Main accountabilities

Strategic Planning
- Set product strategy, value proposition and determine products to promote/sell to drive growth
- Develop Medium/long-term strategic roadmap for the product, identifying growth opportunities ensuring alignment to Product Line strategy
- Provide allocation / prioritisation recommendations based on Product Line strategy and capacity
- Define pricing strategy, provide guidance on margin target and set non-negotiable limit price to the OUs
- Build market and competitive intelligence to inform our capacity and pricing

Product / portfolio management
- Continuously define product portfolio maximization through key product specific projects (existing product development) as well as tail management
- Manage sample approvals and industrial trials
- Lead product specific projects (e.g. NPD, new capacity, line extension, M&A etc.)

Commercialisation
- Identify New Product Development (NPD) opportunities, reflecting market appetite and customer demand/trends
- Manage NPD’s through the stage gate process, developing business cases for commercialization
- Drive NPD launches post stage gate

Lead product specific Operations
- Manage capacity requirements with Global Operations
- Work with Global Operations to analyse ongoing supply and demand requirements (aligned to forecast) to manage product allocation by region
- Assess evaluate and implement product changes with cross-region implications

Skills and experience required
- Strong commercial and basic technical product expertise - Detailed end-to-end product understanding including benefits, role in portfolio, role in the market
- Strong commercial acumen is a must, having previously been at a senior Product Management role and involved in innovation and positioning, identifying and capitalising on industry trends and commercial opportunities, with a proven ability to make choices and prioritise projects in relation to the business opportunity they represent
- Previous project leadership experience, including virtual teams of managers in a matrix organization
- Excellent networking and influencing skills with the ability to develop relationships with a wide range of business partners across all parts of the business
- Ownership, personal drive and resilience for this critical phase of the business’ growth
- Regular travel across world to manufacturing sites and ICD centre in Chicago, USA
