Responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice to senior management and all global businesses and functions, the team offers a diverse range of legal skills, jurisdictional experience and practice specialisms across all countries and territories in which our businesses operate.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate and Institutional Banking**.

**Principal Responsibilities**

The role holder will be part of the legal team that provides legal advice and support to the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business.

Principle responsibilities will include:

- Provide legal support on all aspects of the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business to ensure that legal and reputational risks of the CIB business are proactively identified and mitigated
- Draft, review and negotiate relevant contracts and transaction document
- Develop and maintain standard documentation templates
- Liaise with and manage external counsel where necessary and in a cost-effective manner
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders that support that CIB business
- Support local, regional and/or global projects and initiatives
- Monitor legislative and regulatory changes and industry developments relevant to the CIB business, and ensure senior legal management and CIB business teams are briefed/updated on the impact of these changes/developments
- Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets

**Qualifications - External**
- Qualified Lawyer with 10 years' relevant experience
- Experienced and confident practitioner
- Up-to-date knowledge of developments in own industry sector
- Lateral thinking/problem solving skills and ability to handle a diverse range of issues, deal with new or unexpected situations and work under pressure
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong inter-personal skills
- Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
- A collaborative teammate, but also a self-starter who is able to work independently with an entrepreneurial drive
