**Research Fellow **in the Laboratory of A/P Yusuf Ali**
We are currently recruiting a R esearch Fellow who will join the Molecular and Cellular Dysfunction in Diabetes laboratory at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), a joint medical school between Imperial College London and Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
Located in the heart of Singapore, our laboratory at the Clinical Sciences Building focuses on the mechanisms that underlie the progression of type-2 diabetes mellitus and on diet impacts the secretion of insulin during its pathogenesis. We use the combination of mammalian cell biology and small animal genetics to tackle these critical questions and to find ways to translate our findings to improved human health.

**Responsibilities**:
- Conduct experiments related to beta-cell physiology and pathology.
- Pancreatic islet isolation and whole-body metabolic phenotyping.
- Pharmacological and genetic manipulation in mammalian cells.
- Maintain good experimental records.
Skills and qualifications:
- Applicants should have at least 1 year of previous research experience or laboratory training.
- Applicants who have an extensive record of laboratory management in other schools and institutes are encouraged to apply.
- Self-motivated and well-organized with good communication and technical skills.
- Be able to work independently and collaborate effectively in a highly diverse and interdisciplinary team.
- Prior knowledge in live cell imaging and cell biology is preferred. Experimental skills in molecular biology, biochemistry or light microscopy will be adding an advantage.
