Lead strategic ESG communication efforts in APAC through leadership engagement and overall project coordination.

**Job Purpose**

Support and advance SMBC Group’s ESG commitments in APAC.
1. Ensuring transparency and progress of multiple sustaibality initiatives for SMBC APAC relating to internal projetcs, product development and improved control framework as well as external engagements, events, and partnerships.
2. Building and centralizing SMBC's sustainability and ESG brand positioning and narratives in APAC.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leadership engagement and overall project management
- Work with internal and external stakeholders suc as the media, industry experts, government agencies etc. to raise the positioning and profile of SMBC's sustainabiluty projects, deals and initiatives
- Produce sustainability themed contents, manage integrated sustainability communication programmes and campaigns in the region
- Ensure allignment on internal/external messages with SMBC global positions on key issues in a timely manner

**Job Requirements**
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Ideally finance / sustainability related.
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience in communications, PR, sustainability or related fields
- Ideally has track of producing sustainability contents and managing communications programmes.
- Ideally has expereince with mass communications
- Knowledge of banking/finance products and terminology
- Broad understanding of gloval sustainability/ESG/Climtae change issues
- Ability to lead multiple projects within tight deadlines and work effectively in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders and partners
- Strong communication skills, writen and spoken, ability to present confidently to larger audiences, moderate events.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate in a clear and structured manner
- Inlcuding presentation skills for audiences at senior management level.
- Self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills
- Can demomstrate critical thinking and doesn't mind challenging the status quo
