Senior Data Solutions Consultant

The Global Retail Markets (GRM) team has an opening for a position in East Region Data Operations team by collaborating with emerging international data governance, analytics and IT teams to develop and implement data solutions and best practices. Participates in all aspects of sensitive, highly visible and comprehensive global projects to advance the needs of the enterprise by providing, building and maintaining prototype data solutions. Works with local, regional and global operations to support business strategies to drive the long-term growth and profitability of GRM.

We are seeking a hands-on, data driven individual to build and maintain data solutions to improve efficiencies and ensure the solutions can be scaled appropriately. This individual will provide, build, and in some cases maintain data solutions to improve efficiencies with sourcing and wrangling data. This individual will collaboratively work to drive initiatives with high value for the organization and must possess a high level of technical knowledge and skills with coding and data tools. Understands integration points across functions and business units. Coordinates with data working teams and subgroups, including collection of information for escalation to the East Region leadership regarding strategic data solutions.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Facilitates and/or participates in data-related working teams, forums, and other mechanisms to advocate, communicate, and support data and analytics strategy initiatives throughout GRM.
- Uses best practices in designing proof-of-concept solutions that meet technical and business requirements, with an ability to perform iterative solution testing to ensure specifications are met.
- Designs and develops data solutions that enable effective self-service data consumption.
- Effectively manage time and prioritize tasks to complete all work on schedule.
- Prioritizes efforts based on customer value.
- Maintains proof-of-concepts and prototype solutions.
- Working with IT, assists in building robust systems focusing on long-term and ongoing maintenance and support.
- Ensures data solutions include deliverables required to achieve high quality data.
- Displays an understanding of complex multi-tier, multi-platform systems, and applies principles of metadata, lineage, business definitions, compliance, and data security to project work.
- Ability to learn and adapt the new tool and technique to achieve the business results.
- Demonstrates an extensive command of new technologies as needed to progress initiatives.
- Influences across the team, as well as the broader organization
- Provides technical guidance to team members of all skill levels.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Degree in related field (e.g. Math, Science, Social Science, Engineering, Information Technology, and International Management) with 5 years of experience or the equivalent required.
- Strong communication, influencing, analytical skills are required.
- Must be self-driven and flexible enough to succeed in ambiguous and less structured situations.
- Strong negotiation skill is also required.
- Experience working & managing cloud storage including AWS, Azure, and data pipeline using open source stacks is preferred.
- Experience with relational databases, such as Redshift and SQL Server.
- Familiarity of technologies like Microsoft Business Intelligence, visualization analytics like Tableau, Power BI is strongly desired.
- Project management and presentation skills are a plus.
- Experience with multiple cultures is preferred.
- International travel will be required (5% to 20% of the time) when we are allowed to travel.
