The Antimicrobial Biologics Laboratory in A*STAR ID Labs headed by Dr Matthew Zirui Tay is looking for a highly self-motivated individual to join us as a Research Officer. Our mission is to develop the next generation of vaccines and biologics-based therapeutics to defend against emerging infectious disease threats to Singapore and to the world.
**The job responsibilities are as follows**:
Involvement in projects related to antibody and vaccine development
Perform wet lab experiments using techniques such as molecular biology, antibody protein expression, live or pseudovirus bioassays, bacterial culture, primary cell culture
Perform microfluidic chip fabrication and microfluidics-based assays.
JOB REQUIREMENT
Degree in Life Sciences/Biomedical Sciences/Biological Sciences/Biomedical Engineering or related fields
Experience in a laboratory environment and strong wet lab laboratory technique
Excellent organizational and skills and attention to details
Team player with strong interpersonal skills
Highly motivated and a passion for research
Adaptable to a diverse and cross-disciplinary environment, because we use a wide range of techniques to achieve our research outcomes
Job Requirements
**Qualification & Field of Study**: Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Infectious Diseases, Microbiology, Immunology, or related field
1 to 2 years of relevant experience preferred
Experience with BSL-2 pathogens, and cell culture will be an asset
General lab skills in molecular biology (cloning, PCR, RNA and DNA methods)
Highly motivated and able to work independently and multitask
Team player with good interpersonal skills
Good spoken and written communication skills
A strong desire to constantly learn and acquire new skills
