Centrica’s asset power trading desk is looking for a new Intraday Power Trader with previous experience of trading European Power Markets

Centrica is one of Europe’s leading trading companies in the power and gas markets, spanning from optimizing and managing assets to proprietary trading. This job as intraday power asset trader is aiming at maintaining and furthering Centrica’s position in the European Power Market. **Your responsibilities**

You will be part of our Power Asset trading team, a dynamic and international team based in Denmark and Singapore (working from Singapore but cooperating closely with colleagues in Denmark). Asset management includes the optimization of customer assets as well as active portfolio management of assets within own books, where the time from analysis to execution is very short. Among that, you will be responsible for managing renewable asset like wind and solar parks and be part of a shift setup which trades 24/7, weekend shifts included. Trading requires mental resilience and being able to act under pressure.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Trading and balancing of assets in UK and Europe
- Develop and execute day-to-day and intraday strategies
- Take active part in developing and executing of algorithmic trading and automatization
- Actively pursue knowledge to develop the team’s ability to forecast
- Monitoring trading activities to discover and eliminate operational risks
- Shift setup includes early start and weekend shifts
- Provide open and honest feedback
- Fulfilling targets agreed with the team lead

**Qualifications**
- Master’s Degree in Finance/Economics or STEM preferred
- A strong interest in financial markets, renewables, energy systems and trading
- A thorough understanding of general economic relations and theory
- Previous experience in power asset trading in Intraday European markets **is a must**
- IT skills: Python, VBA, Excel, R or similar coding languages are a plus
- Innovative mindset that questions status quo
- Calm under pressure, ability to handle difficult situations
- Receptive to constant direct feedback
- Accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail
- “Morning person”
