The School of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University is at the forefront of materials innovation and sustainable technology development. The NGenuity Lab, led by Assistant Professor Leonard Ng Wei Tat, specializes in developing autonomous laboratory systems that accelerate scientific discovery through advanced automation and artificial intelligence.

We are looking for a Research Fellow to lead the implementation of IoT sensor networks and automation systems that will accelerate Singapore's alternative protein production capabilities. The role will focus on creating smart factory-ready hardware architectures that enable real-time monitoring and digital twin implementations, aligned with Singapore's Smart Nation initiative and local food production goals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the design and implementation of IoT sensor networks
- Develop hardware integration solutions for laboratory automation
- Configure and calibrate sensor systems for optimal performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders on system requirements
- Maintain laboratory equipment and manage supplier relationships

**Job Requirements**:

- PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Demonstrated experience with sensor integration and automation systems
- Strong background in data acquisition systems and industrial protocols
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
