Architectural Resident Technical Officer

Carry out site supervision and inspection of the works including any off-site manufacturing as instructed by the Architect so as to ensure that works are constructed to the required quality and accuracy, in accordance to the Architect’s Specifications, approved shopdrawings and/or Architect’s construction drawings.
- **Please refer to the full Scope of Works for this position **here**.** The list stated on page 2/3 is a general summary of the architectural works that requires the RTO’s supervision. However, the list is NOT exhaustive and the RTO is to check and ensure that all architectural/builders works are constructed to the required quality and accuracy, in accordance with all of the Architect’s Specifications, approved shopdrawings and/or Architect’s construction drawings. RTO is to clarify with the Architect where necessary.
- Monitor progress of the works on site and at any off-site manufacturing facilities and report delays immediately to the Architect. To provide weekly site progress photos to the Architect for record.
- Maintain proper and updated daily reports of all works done, including records of tests, inspections, status of work, safety, site diary, material and equipment on site, labour, dayworks, provisional quantities etc.
- Ensure that all submissions by the Contractor are in proper order
- Provide standing supervision as and when directed by the Architect or SRE
- Assist with the inspection of pre-cast elements at the casting yard where required
- Coordinate with the Contractor’s Safety Officer to ensure that site safety is properly executed by the Contractor at all times.
- Safeguard and keep proper record of all approved samples submitted.
- Check and ensure that the Contractor executes Preliminary items
- Check Contractor’s setting out of works for all architectural works. Any deviations/discrepancies to be highlighted to the SRE and Architect immediately.
- Verify reports and claims submitted by the Contractor and ensure proper documentation of project correspondences on site
- Inspect works carried out at critical stages leading to their completion and the completed works
- Inspect the various tests to be carried out on site, including but not limited to water ponding test, window watertightness test, pull out test, fireproofing installation, etc.
- Conduct and record defects inspections and ensure proper execution of rectification works
- Undertake any other duties related to the project as and when instructed by the Architect and SRE
- Attend daily toolbox meetings and Contractor’s technical and progress meetings when required by the RE
- Inspect the Contractor’s works to include material storage, sequence of works and protection to finished works
- Attend trade demos, endorse inspection forms and ensure proper record and filing.
- Monitoring on-site provision of structural works that are to be coordinated with architectural and interior works
- Monitoring housekeeping by the contractor

Skills/Requirements
**Qualifications Required**
- Diploma in Architecture or equivalent certificate from a recognized institution/university or acceptable to the Commissioner of Building Control
- Minimum 5 years of Architectural RTO experience, institutional project working experience preferred
- Good understanding in construction drawings and specification for Architectural works
- Familiar with Singapore Building Control Act and Construction Regulations.
- Good knowledge or experience in several aspects of construction activities
- Experienced in coordinating Structural / M&E works / Architectural with the project team
- Experienced in quality control on the architectural works
