Freight Administrator

Reports to: Freight Management Supervisor

Job descriptions

The role of a Freight Administrator is to manage freight activities, shipment bookings ensure full compliance with customs laws, and on-time shipment delivery. This position requires export shipments to be processed according to schedule and resolve shipment schedule challenges by communicating with master schedulers, productions, account teams, sales offices, freight forwarders, transportation providers, and buyers/planners.


Roles & Responsibilities- Collaborate with forwarders, Customs & Broker(s) to ensure accuracy on Import & Export documents in areas such as valuation, classification, and origin of manufacturing.- Plan shipments based on shipment availability and customer requests.- Track shipments to ensure timely deliveries.- Prepare shipping documents (shipping invoices, packing list)- Monitor freight conditions, delivery status, and customer concerns.- Analyze carrier routes to support the best transit time.- Communicate order requirements with our multiple warehouses and coordinate with shipping & warehouse to export the goods to our global partners & customers.- Maintain updated records of shipments.- Provide information to customers, sales office, master schedulers, about the status of their orders.- Serve as a liaison for brokers and suppliers to resolve import compliance issues and ensure shipments are delivered timely.- Manage cargo freight claims.- Communicate with Master scheduler, productions, planners, and buyers to resolve shipment issues and complaints when they arise.- Undertake any other ad-hoc duties assigned by the superior.

Minimum Qualifications- Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or 5 years of freight operations management experience in forwarders or as a shipper/consignee capacity with knowledge of scheduling flow, freight operations, customs procedures- SAP experience or similar- Intermediate Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: TEAMS, OneNote, Excel, Word, and Outlook- Strong customer service skills including verbal and written skills. Able to resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner- Excellent communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.- In-depth understanding of industry and company best practices for freight operations.- A team player with the ability to multi-task and organize work systematically.- Process Improvement mindset- Ability to work under pressure in a fast changing and demanding environment.
