- Conducting Mass toolbox meetings and oversee the Sub-Contractors Toolbox meetings are conducted in relevance to work hazards.
- Plan, co-ordinate, and review all works and Permit to Wok in the Shipyard as a Secretary for the VSCC Committee Meeting on a daily basis
- Perform testing of the atmosphere of the confined space and record the results of the test in the confined space entry permit in the Workplace, as required under Regulations.
- To ensure Assessment and Inspection of the Hot-work locations at site is evaluated for Hot Work permissible and safe to be carried out in the Workplace
- Conduct Inspections checks on safety aspects for all Permit To Work activities and Stop any Works deemed Unsafe that pose a hazard to the workforce and property and mitigate the Corrective Actions
- Ensure all Routine & Non-Routine Lifting Operations are carried out according to the Permit to Work/ Lifting Plan and all LE/LA/LG are inspected and valid with a MOM Cert as required by the Regulations
- Ensure all Hot Works Cutting Torches/Gas Hoses/Apparatus and Electrical Equipment used in the Workplace are inspected every 14 days and 30 days respectively by the users.
- Ensure all Permit to Work and Hot Work Permits are valid and displayed by the responsible Applicant
- Conduct Safety Induction Course for new Personnel to be familiarize with the Shipyard’s HSE and SMM Plan requirements & assist Safety Manager to conduct Safety Trainings in relevance to the various trade activities and Mom’s recommended trainings for respective Workers.
- Inspect and ensure Emergency Fire Fighting and Rescue Equipment are in good working condition and maintained.
- Reporting to Safety Manager on the Non-Compliance and Incident/Accident at the Workplace and carry out assigned duties to assist Safety Manager.
- Carry out duties as Company’s Emergency Rescue Team member responding to emergency incidents and providing support to SCDF during the emergency situation.
