DESIGNATION : Designer (Assistant Manager/ Manager)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Gardens by the Bay (GB) is a national garden and world-renowned horticultural attraction that is guided by our vision to be a world of gardens for all to own, enjoy and cherish. A showpiece of garden artistry that presents the plant kingdom in a whole new way, Gardens by the Bay has earned many design accolades including World Building of the Year 2012 and Presidents Design Award 2013.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary design team comprising of architects, landscape architects and graphic designers. A core function of this role is event and experience design, where you will have the opportunity to work with horticulturists on the design of Gardens by the Bays iconic changing floral displays. Other responsibilities include graphic design, as well as managing the Gardens network of wayfinding and interpretive signs.

Key responsibilities:

- ** Event Design**:research, conceptualise and propose fresh, high-impact designs in 3D for different types of displays/ events. The designer shall assess the site conditions, develop technical drawings, help prepare procurement specifications and documents, and work closely with internal and external partners to deliver a world-class show.
- ** Signage/ Graphic design**:generate creative design proposals that respond to requirements and reflect the GB's branding while ensuring high standards of functionality, sustainability, and aesthetics befitting this world-class destination. Responsible for working closely with internal and external partners to maintain aesthetic consistency and ensuring alignment with established standards.
- ** Visual Communication**:be well versed in design visualisation software, artificial intelligence and other tools to create 3D models, renderings, and presentations to communicate design ideas effectively to management and internal stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design or other three-dimensional design, including event and experience design. Qualifications in Visual Communications, Digital Arts, or other relevant discipline will also be considered
- Strong sense of composition, realism, texture, colour, lighting, and attention to detail
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketchup/ 3D, and other relevant tools. Proficiency in Computational design, AI tools like Midjourney, data visualisation tool such as tableau will be a bonus
- Background or familiarity with horticulture and the use of plant materials in designs will be a bonus
- Ability to work in a group setting and/or independently and multi-task under challenging deadlines
- Strong interpersonal collaboration and communication skills. Able to build good working relationships with peers and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively
