This client is a significant global player in Aircraft Leasing & Finance Industry. They are currently seeking a VP Transactional Legal to be based in Singapore

**Key responsibilities**:

- Providing input and expertise to cross-functional deal teams in the initial transaction structuring process (including letters of intent and term sheets);
- Reviewing drafting, negotiating and managing principal transaction documentation, such as operating/ finance lease agreements, sale agreements, amendments and ancillary documentation related thereto;
- Leading transactions through documentation phase to contract signature and closing;
- Engaging in communication with lender’s counsel in respect of customer facing security documents and approval of principal transaction documentation;
- Reviewing conditions precedent/security documents, as necessary;
- Appointing and managing external legal counsel in all relevant jurisdictions;
- Coordinating/managing matters involving defaulting customers (such as restructurings/repossessions/litigation) in conjunction with other deal team members; and
- Involvement in creation and maintenance of pro forma documents/ other company know-how.

**Competencies**:

- 5+ years aircraft leasing legal counsel experience;
- Experience negotiating complex legal terms with external clients with proven ability to find creative solutions in difficult/complex business structures;
- Excellent communication skills -written and oral;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to function mostly independently and effectively as a member of the legal organization and commercial deal teams;
- Experience leading successful negotiations;
- Experience within financial services industry - including an ability to understand all facets of financial services, such as leasing, secured lending and asset management;
- Ability to prioritize and manage a diverse workload; and
- Strong analytical skills.
