As part of the Process Solutions commercial organization, you will be part of the Customer Applications (CA) team responsible for Single Use and Integrated Process Systems (SUIPS).
- As a leader of the SUIPS team you will work with the CA APeC Manager to allocate resources appropriately to maximise growth within this franchise. You will ensure the team is motivated and engaged to deliver against the team goals.
- You will leverage your expertise and strategic insights in the field of Single Use and Integrated Hardware Systems to effectively collaborate with commercial partners and drive sales.
- You will partner with commercial and other CA teams to lead comprehensive strategies for integrated solutions in the specified region.
- You will coordinate with Regional Strategy Execution (RSE), Strategy, Field Marketing (FM) and Commercial team members to plan, coordinate and execute regional Plans of Action (POA).
- Your understanding of current industry drivers and trends, together with an appreciation of competition dynamics will be used to effectively identify strategic opportunities for your team to gain market share and grow the business.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to support team members in their own development, ensuring all team members have an active Individual Development Plan (IDP).
Motivate sales in pursuing new business opportunities, focusing on commercial business opportunities for pre-Sales projects including SUIPS products & capabilities.
- Present Merck SUIPS expertise to customers and participate in High Level Networking through both face-to-face and virtual interactions.
- Develop and drive regional goals for specific market responsibilities, such as understanding certain business dynamics related to strategic customers/projects.
- Validate the information to prioritize customer projects and maintain team efficiency.
- Enable team members to demonstrate consultancy with a high-level of expertise in SUIPS.
- Collaborate seamlessly with sales teams to prospect, qualify, pursue, propose, negotiate, and close customer opportunities, as needed and with focus on larger, complex opportunities.
- Create a team environment to drive the commercial teams to identify and nurture opportunities, focusing on Competitive Conversion (CoCo), New Product Introductions (NPI), Product Seeding and Application Based Solutions (ABS). Bring customer & commercial feedback back to leadership, business & strategy teams to implement best practices and close gaps.
Ensure successful brand awareness and marketing of Merck products for Pharma/Biotech in the designated territory.- Ensure commitments to the successful introduction of new products and participate in programs reinforcing product positioning and selling strategies.
- Maintain technical excellence in SUIPS and complementary product portfolios. Ensure participation in and contributions to upskilling activities such as Seminar Series and other Technology Team Programs.
- Compile and report competitor activities and emergent customer needs and use this information to advance Merck’s product development strategy.
- Understand and track changes in local market dynamics and use them to leverage business strategies by sharing with relevant stakeholders (CA/business).
- Build relationships and networks with industry decision makers and opinion leaders to maintain and grow Merck’s SUIPS market & mind share.
- ** Education**:
- ** Essential**:** Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or other relevant field**:Desirable:
Master’s, PhD or equivalent combination of education and/or industrial experience
Additional education or experience in Business, Marketing or similar with certification
- ** Work Experience**
- 10 years relevant technical experience in the life science industry.
- 5 years people management experience.
- Knowledge of sales cycles from prospecting to closure in the Biopharmaceutical industry and relevant commercial experience.
- Experience with biological production across modalities including, but not limited to, mAbs, ADCs, vaccines, mRNA & Viral Vectors.
- Proven experience in managing complex and dynamic projects with a variety of key stakeholders.
