The position of VP, Global Tax Compliance leads a worldwide team over 300 tax professionals who ensure that J&J meets all of its tax reporting and direct and indirect tax compliance requirements, while implementing appropriate local tax planning strategies, being the front line on local aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, policy development and audits by tax authorities. For scale, in 2021 the team was responsible for collecting and remitting $7B in tax receipts to governments around the world. Lead organizational and operational optimization to achieve improved quality, efficiencies and engagement in light of the Consumer Health separation and SigniFi.

Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead global network of 4 regional senior directors and regional and country tax centers, and drive efficiencies through process optimization in collaboration with Global Services and key subfunctions in Global Tax as well as adoption of new SigniFi enabled Tax technology.
- Ensure all tax compliance, statutory reporting (where responsible) and SOX requirements are met, in a timely and efficient manner, and taxes are reported accurately for financial accounting purposes, including representing J&J Tax to public audit firm
- Assess opportunities for globalization, regionalization and co-sourcing to achieve organizational efficiencies
- Lead country tax optimization and risk mitigation, with particular focus on Switzerland, Ireland, Singapore, Israel and Puerto Rico
- Execute cross-border tax planning strategies and support global tax planning priorities, including relating to employee location
- In collaboration with Tax Policy team, drive country advocacy efforts on key legislative issues, including relating to OECD Pillar 2; lead implementation of legislative and regulatory changes
- Lead talent development and organizational health improvements for the Global Tax Compliance function and champion DE&I policy
- As member of the Global Tax leadership team, contribute to key initiatives

**Qualifications**
- Ability to effectively develop and lead a high-performing organization of tax professionals
- Deep, broad-based technical tax knowledge, with depth across direct and indirect tax compliance and reporting, tax planning, transfer pricing, disputes and technology
- Ability to exercise a high level of independent judgment and execution in a highly complex multi-dimensional environment
- Strong communication, partnering and people management skills
- Excellent tax analytical, partnering and influencing
- Ability to interface with government tax officials, external advisers, and internal tax and business leaders at all levels
