Gather materials from warehouse and other locations in the facility to prepare for producing food product
- Set up, operate, and monitor equipment that cooks, mixes, blends, or processes ingredients in the manufacturing of food products, as directed by the company supplied recipes and industry standards
- Load ingredients into tanks, mix or blend the ingredients using agitated tanks
- Record production and test data for each food product batch, such as the ingredients used, temperature, test results, and cycle time
- Make food processing machines adjustments to achieve the desired temperature, flow, and levels during the processing of the food product
- Select and measure or weigh ingredients, using English or metric measures and balance scales
- Comprehend written instructions and recipes from the company when putting together ingredients and starting a new batch of products
- Observe gauges and thermometers to determine if temperatures of the product are within specified limits and turn valves or adjust the control system using an HMI to control the temperature
- Observe and listen to equipment to detect possible malfunctions, such as leaks or plugging, and report malfunctions or undesirable tastes or smells to supervisors
- Verify that the product meets the quality standards of the company using internal monitoring systems and laboratory tests such as moisture content, acidity level, specific gravity, or other attributes and adjust the processes to achieve the desired characteristics
- React to alarms or malfunctions of the equipment and help solve these issues when they arise
- Inspect and physically bag the final dried product
- Clean, wash, and sanitize equipment using water hoses, cleaning or sterilizing solutions, and rinses. Automated and manual systems will be used to accomplish these tasks
- Consult with the supervisor or production manager with any questions or concerns
- Inspect all equipment after cleaning to ensure cleanliness
- Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
