**The Opportunity**
IQVIA’s Real World Group is currently recruiting for a **Associate Consultant, Biostatistian/ Epidemiologist **to focus on design and delivery of secondary database real world research in APAC region. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with experienced researchers, consultants and data scientists to support the design, development and delivery of a wide range of projects to our clients in the healthcare industry. Assignments range in complexity from evaluating and scoping opportunities, research analysis and problem solving to assisting the development of recommendations for clients.
**Assignment Scope & Learning Opportunities**:
(Under the guidance of Engagement Leads)
- Participate in project teams including project managers, epidemiologists, data scientists, statisticians and consultants put together from across IQVIA APAC and other regions
- Performing quantitative analyses for healthcare data studies using large database across APAC
- Use biostatistics knowledge to input study design and development of statistical analysis plans for RWD studies covering descriptive analysis and statistical modelling approaches
- Support data analytics scripting and execution of analytics for observational research studies
- Use statistical programming ability to support development/maintenance of central analytics code library and updating existing coding with support from IQVIA data scientists
- Support project delivery e.g. creating reports, presentations and other client deliverables, and participating in client meetings and workshops
**Skills & Experience Required**:
- MPH, MSc or PhD (or an equivalent degree) in epidemiology, public health, biostats or a related discipline
- Experience designing and executing retrospective epidemiological studies in existing databases
- Deep interest or prior experience in working with health organisations, governments and life science companies
- Experience working with data sets, finding insights in unstructured data will be advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- R and other statistical programming language experience ideal
- Great interpersonal skills including ability to work effectively with others in and across the organization to accomplish team goals
- Strong problem solving, analytical & project management skills
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
