Senior Manager, Credit

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Risk of Airwallex, the Associate Director/Senior Manager, Credit and Financial Risk is a critical role assuming the second line of defence ownership for credit, FX, interest rate and liquidity risk management of Airwallex Group. Airwallex is looking to expand its product span with global scalability and this role will be critical in supporting Airwallex's business growth by establishing an effective, streamlined and scalable risk management framework and the necessary capabilities. This critical role will require exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and collaboration with other key stakeholders across the organization.

This role is part of a truly global team and we are open to this person being based in any of our established offices.

**Responsibilities**:

- Define the overall credit risk management strategy and the required data and system capability in supporting product initiatives.
- Develop and maintain credit policies for credit products, including credit cards and lending.
- Advise and work closely with Product and Operations in designing end-to-end credit processes from initiation, underwriting, monitoring, and portfolio management to collection.
- Manage and handle high credit risk escalations.
- Develop FX and Treasury risk management strategy, risk appetite and risk management policies.
- Enhance FX and Treasury risk monitoring and reporting capabilities.

What you bring:

- Bachelor's Degree in risk management, financial engineering, mathematics or related fields
- At least 8+ years of relevant credit risk management, model development, or underwriting experience.
- Experience in start-up FinTech is highly preferred.
- Independent, self-starter and works well with cross-functional teams
- An understanding of Enterprise risk management is added bonus
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to operate strategically and think creatively to solve complex regulatory compliance challenges.
