**Job Overview**:
The Building Maintenance Handyman is responsible for performing various general maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the building’s systems and infrastructure. The role includes troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the physical condition of the property, addressing maintenance issues as they arise, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure the safety and comfort of building occupants.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **General Maintenance**:Perform basic repairs and maintenance work for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep.
- **Troubleshooting & Repair**:Diagnose and fix issues related to doors, windows, light fixtures, plumbing, heating/cooling systems, locks, and other building systems.
- **Preventive Maintenance**:Conduct routine inspections of building facilities, equipment, and systems to identify and address potential issues before they become significant problems.
- **Safety & Compliance**:Ensure that all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and legal requirements. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- **Emergency Repairs**:Respond to emergency maintenance requests and prioritize repairs to minimize disruptions to building operations and occupancy.
- **Inventory & Supplies**:Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance tools, parts, and supplies. Order supplies as needed to ensure adequate stock.
- **Collaboration**:Work closely with building management and other maintenance staff to coordinate maintenance schedules, improve building systems, and address tenant concerns.
- **Documentation**:Keep records of maintenance work, repairs performed, and parts used for tracking purposes. Provide regular reports to management on building status and repairs.
- **Special Projects**:Assist in larger-scale maintenance or renovation projects as needed, following proper protocols and safety measures.

**Requirements**:

- **Experience**:Proven experience as a maintenance worker or handyman in a commercial or residential building environment.
- **Technical Skills**:Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Ability to handle a wide range of general maintenance tasks.
- **Problem-Solving Skills**:Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
- **Physical Stamina**:Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working with various tools and equipment.
- **Safety Awareness**:Knowledge of safe work practices and the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- **Communication Skills**:Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with building management, tenants, and contractors.
- **Certifications (preferred)**:Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) are a plus but not required.
- **Availability**:Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, in case of emergencies.

**Physical Demands**:

- Work in various weather conditions, including outdoor tasks during.
- Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks at heights.

**Work Environment**:

- The position requires working in a variety of environments, including commercial, residential, or industrial buildings.
- May involve exposure to hazardous materials or chemicals (with safety precautions).
