**Job Description**:
**What a Senior Employee Relations Manager does at Visa**:
- Partner with leaders/employees to facilitate positive interactions and effective outcomes for employment related matters including performance coaching, performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions and employee communications.
- Support on involuntary terminations and workplace changes such as restructuring/reorganization, workforce reduction, etc.
- Identify potential legal red flags, collaborate with in-house legal counsel on addressing legal issues, and assist with implementation of legal advice.
- Review and advise on queries and requests relating to an array of ER topics e.g. medical accommodations, remote work arrangements, performance management, etc.
- Provide support in maintaining the employee handbooks within the AP region.
- Provide detailed case management documentation, executive summaries and timelines written with precision and clear next steps and recommended remediation strategies
- Analyze employee relations trends with the business to develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies.
- Conduct workplace reviews for complex situations, demonstrating effective listening and empathy, probing and investigatory skills with the ability to synthesize data, identify root problems/causes, and recommend actions to resolve.
- Support and respond thoughtfully to Life/Safety events, and related policy, best practice and procedure development.
- Identify areas of opportunities and propose solutions for People team process improvements.
- Lead and support other related duties, cross functional ER and People Team projects, regional and global initiatives as needed.

The Senior ER Manager will work closely with global and regional ER counterparts, supporting the ER Director for the Asia Pacific region and serve as a trusted partner to business leaders and People Business Partners. **What you will need**:
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to interface with others in a positive, approachable and professional manner. Strong persuasion and conflict resolution skills.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive HR or Employment Law experience, with majority of time in employee relations highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and practices in markets within AP region (especially Australia and New Zealand)
- Must be able to work independently and interface with all levels of employees (including executive level stakeholders) with little or no supervision, but also be a good team player.
- Must be a practical and proactive problem-solver, must have a strong business acumen and be confident, mature and calm under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability in (i) managing complex and contentious ER matters, and (ii) conducting high quality, sensitive and complex workplace investigations.
- Possess excellent analytical skills with the ability to integrate legal advice and business/company knowledge, while providing balanced advice and practical solutions.
- Strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders such as in-house counsel, Business Conduct Office, regional People team and people leaders.
- Proven ability to make judgment calls and sound, ethical decisions displaying a heightened level of responsibility, confidentiality, integrity and professionalism.
- Highly collaborative, and comfortable working within a matrix environment including PBPS, in-house legal counsel, BCO, compliance and more broadly across HR.
- Good judgment, strong common sense, and excellent attention to detail.
