Head, Student Management System

The University's new Student Management System (SMS) manage the complete student lifecycle from attracting new talent, through all day-to-day activities, and on to graduation. This system will support our population of more than 33,000 students.
You will partner another Project Director to lead the SMS Project Management Committee and be responsible for the overall project planning, implementation and transition of the University's new Student Management System. After system implementation, you will drive the vision of optimising the use of SMS and other related systems.
**Responsibilities**:
- Partner another Project Director to steer project schedule, budget, scope, activities and assignment of resources to ensure the project is delivered in accordance to requirements, on time and within budget.
- Lead gathering and finalisation of requirements for the project covering the full spectrum of studentship management from admission to graduation for undergraduate and graduate programmes, and continuing education.
- Drive activities for business implementation and will direct coordination, alignment, harmonisation and integration of systems and processes across business work streams to support the University's mission, goals, and strategic plan.
- Reconcile conflicts and make decision on matters across different workstreams.
- Lead/Champion the transformation of all work streams, with a view for the future.
- Develop and implement change management plans, and manage all relationship between end users, stakeholders, project leadership, University leadership and vendor, to ensure smooth transition to the new system.
- Perform risk management to minimise project risk.
- Collaborate with business work streams and other key stakeholders to develop, manage, maintain and support the SMS Roadmap with the intent to extend the value of SMS, in terms of functionality and new/additional capabilities to address changing business needs.
- Leverage business knowledge, best practices and expertise, to identify system improvements and enhancements and define both short-term and long-term strategies; recommend and implement solutions.
- Provide both strategic guidance and tactical support in the administration and support of policies, procedures with the use of SMS.
- Collaborate with business work streams to r eview and configure business procedures/workflow and identify SMS features that may improve efficiency.
**Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in any related field from a recognised University
- At least 10 to 12 years of project management experience with substantial experience as a Business Lead, preferably in support and implementation of student management system in the tertiary education sector
- Strong studentship management background, with understanding or hands-on experience in a student management system
- Ability to influence thought leadership and senior stakeholders
- Proven leadership experience and a strong team player with great technical expertise
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with an eye for details in planning and implementation
- CITPM / PMP / PRINCE2 certification
