**About our group**:
The group belongs to the SSDC Firmware Subsystem group located in The Shugart. The team works closely with our Seagate global subsystem group on feature development, technology staging, feature integration and SOC validation.

**About the role - you will**:

- Develop HDD Firmware features & technologies.
- Work with other HDD functional groups on technology staging and hardware/features validation for future products
- Debug hardware/firmware issues during code development
- Support Failure Analysis activities related to firmware issues
- Present analysis/design ideas to peers or customers.

**About you**:

- Willing to learn and take on new challenges
- Enjoy development work on embedded software development together with other hardware teams.
- Problem solver and team player. Able to collaborate with other teams for cross functional and cross-site development.
- Able to articulate thoughts and express ideas effectively through written and verbal communications

**Your experience includes**:

- Expertise in HDD architecture, industrial interface/storage/security standards and design of real-time embedded systems
- Knowledge in Firmware development cycle and tools (compilers, linkers, emulators, traces and version control)
- Programming skill in one or more languages such as C, C++, assembly, Python, etc
- Statistical analysis skill
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision

**Location**:
The Shugart site (named after Seagate’s founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass-transportation to work. Ample free on-site parking is also available. Being a purpose-built building, The Shugart is a great place to work hard & learn hard. The site has excellent employee recreational facilities too. Take an active break at sports hall and recreation rooms. We also offer classes and interest groups in photography, gardening, foreign languages and community volunteer opportunities.

In response to COVID-19, this position may temporarily begin and be performed remotely. Seagate is actively evaluating the virus and our employees' health and safety are our top priority. In the future, this position will report to and be performed at our **SSDC - The Shugart** location.
