Position Summary

The Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment. This role involves managing reservations, seating arrangements, and ensuring a positive dining experience through excellent customer service and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Guest Reception
- Greet guests warmly and professionally upon arrival.
- Confirm reservations and assist walk-in guests with seating arrangements.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.

2. Seating Management
- Maintain and manage an organized seating chart.
- Ensure efficient seating flow during peak hours to optimize table turnover.
- Coordinate with servers to balance workloads and maintain smooth service.

3. Reservations and Waitlist
- Handle phone and online reservations, including confirming and updating bookings.
- Manage the waitlist during busy periods and provide accurate wait-time estimates.

4. Guest Assistance
- Answer guest inquiries about the menu, special events, or restaurant policies.
- Assist with special requests such as birthday setups or dietary accommodations.
- Handle any guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and escalate if needed.

5. Atmosphere and Ambiance
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entrance, waiting area, and hostess station.
- Ensure the dining area maintains a welcoming and presentable appearance.

6. Team Collaboration
- Communicate with the kitchen, servers, and management to ensure smooth operations.
- Support other team members during busy periods as needed.

Skills and Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Professional and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
- Familiarity with reservation systems or seating management software is a plus.
