The Technician performs activities related to ship hull ultrasonic thickness measurement (UTM) and hull inspection. He/She possesses technical knowledge necessary for interpreting technical design drawings and ship class UTM specifications.

The Technician's duties require him/her to work outdoors on the shop floor, within dry docks and on-board ships. He/She must possess a level of physical fitness appropriate to the job requirements. He/She should be adaptable to working under different job demands to handle new projects that require meticulous attention to detail and repair jobs which emphasise quick response and turnaround.

~ Prepare all type of Class Ultrasonic Thickness Measurement Reports according to ship class.
~ Preparation of ultrasonic thickness measurement drawings using AutoCAD
~ Lead/assist in the conduct of ultrasonic thickness measurement and inspection.
~ Carry out troubleshooting to maintain ultrasonic thickness measurement equipment.
~ Check accuracy of functional equipments according to work instructions.
~ Document maintenance reports containing ship ultrasonic thickness measurement and inspection information.
~ Identify job requirements based on ship class requirements.
~ Perform ultrasonic thickness measurement in accordance to ship class specifications.
