The Social Media Executive will grow Wesley Methodist Church’s online communities, within and external to our church, by developing and deploying the social media engagement plan as part of our church’s online strategy.

The management of the social media plan takes cognizance of the needs of our audience and embraces the latest and most effective offered by technology to:
1. Create - opportunities for engagement with the different communities (in-person/online & internal/external)

2. Encourage - authentic conversations, relationships

3. Grow - build trust, foster community spirit

4. Facilitate - discipleship journeys or members of our communities

The Social Media Executive works as part of the Media Team, and closely in collaboration with ministry volunteers and staff.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan, Develop and Create social media content
- Manage the church’s social media channels
- Engage internal and external communities through the social media channels

**Competencies Required**
- Be Adaptable & Flexible in a dynamic environment
- Be Receptive to feedback
- Be Resilient in different situations
- Competent in mass communication skills - writing, eye for design, video clips
- Conversant in the culture and operations of Wesley Methodist Church
- Flair for developing creative content that is impactful and engaging
- Good working knowledge of social media platforms

- Team Player
- Ability to work independently or in teams
- Ability to work in weekday evenings & weekends

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in the field of media, journalism, arts, communications
- Preferred 5 years’ experience in media, journalism, corporate communications
