**Responsibilities will include**:

- Develop the Engineering Portfolio and proposition in APAC & MENA, as per the Global D+F Engineering and Heavy Industry SBF Management Plan
- Work within the Global Engineering Underwriting guidelines and risk appetite philosophy
- Work in close cooperation with London to manage overlap and be consistent, wherever applicable
- Manage and develop the Regional Engineering team.
- Assess and underwrite renewal and new business in a timely and efficient manner in line with the business plan and personal authority limits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers, cedants and clients.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal procedures.
- Analyse terms, specification, and rating on prospective and existing business
- Compile underwriting reports as appropriate.
- Maintain good relationships with external and internal parties as appropriate.
- Compile statistics and analyse performance of all risks and accounts.
- Compile wordings and proposal forms
- Report monthly Premium Income figures

**Skills and experience**:

- Technical knowledge of underwriting specific to Engineering business lines****:

- Broad exposure to distribution streams
- Active involvement in APAC markets is essential.
- Lloyd’s and London market experience would be an advantage.
- ACII qualification preferable but not essential
- Degree preferable but not essential
- Strong IT skills, literacy, numerate and having analytical and negotiation skills.
